LED Capsule Bulb – G4 & G9, 4000K / 6500K

A direct LED replacement for halogen capsule bulbs. Choose the G4 1.2W version for 12V fittings, or the G9 3W version for 220–240V mains fittings. Both give a full 360° spread of light, so they suit chandeliers, wall lights, under-cabinet lights, cooker hoods, desk lamps and display cabinets fitted with G4 or G9 sockets.

Compatibility & Safety

• G4 is a 12V bulb – it must be used in a 12V fitting with a suitable transformer/driver. Do not connect a G4 bulb directly to 230V mains.
• G9 is a 220–240V mains bulb – it fits G9 sockets directly, no transformer needed.
• G4 and G9 caps are not interchangeable – confirm your existing bulb's cap and the fitting's voltage before ordering.
• Do not use the G4 (non-dimmable) version with a dimmer switch.
• For the dimmable G9 versions, use a dimmer rated as compatible with LED bulbs.
• Switch off and let the bulb cool before replacing. Handle the pins with care.

What is the difference between G4 and G9?
They are different cap types and voltages. G4 has two straight pins and runs on 12V; G9 has two loop pins and runs on 220–240V mains. They do not fit each other's sockets.

Are these bulbs dimmable?
The two G9 versions are dimmable (use a compatible LED dimmer). The G4 version is not dimmable.

What colour should I choose?
4000K Natural White is a clean neutral white for kitchens, bathrooms and workspaces. 6500K Super White is a brighter, cooler daylight white for task lighting.

Will this replace my halogen capsule bulb?
If your fitting uses the same cap (G4 or G9) and voltage, yes – check the cap, voltage and the 41 x 11mm (G4) or 50 x 17mm (G9) size against your existing bulb.

How long will it last?
Rated lifetime is 20,000 hours, with over 100,000 switching cycles.

Does the G4 version need a transformer?
Yes – G4 is 12V, so the fitting must supply 12V through a suitable transformer/driver. The G9 version connects directly to 220–240V mains.
